SteppersLife is a home for the steppin' community — events, classes, and the conversations around them. These Guidelines keep it safe and welcoming. They apply to everything on the Services: profiles, community posts and media, reviews, messages, and event/class listings. They are part of the Terms of Service, and violating them can lead to content removal, listing removal, or account suspension.
1. Our expectations
Be real, be respectful, follow the law, and don't post things that harm or endanger others. If you're a Provider, your events, classes, and listings must follow these Guidelines too.
Class formats. Classes offered through SteppersLife may be in person, live online, or (where the Instructor offers it) pre-recorded or self-paced. The Instructor must state the format clearly on the listing before purchase.
2. Prohibited content and conduct
You may not post, list, promote, or facilitate:
- Illegal activity — anything that violates federal, state, or local law, or that promotes or facilitates it.
- Violence and threats — threats, incitement, or glorification of violence or physical harm.
- Hate and harassment — attacks or dehumanization based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar protected characteristics; targeted harassment or bullying.
- Child safety — any content that exploits or endangers minors; child sexual abuse material is strictly prohibited and will be reported to authorities and NCMEC.
- Sexual content and nudity — pornographic or sexually explicit content, and non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Exploitation and human trafficking — content that exploits, coerces, or trafficks people.
- Fraud, scams, and deceptive practices — fake events/classes, fake demand, phishing, counterfeit tickets, deceptive pricing, or misrepresentation of who you are or what you're offering.
- Regulated goods and dangerous items — unlawful sale or promotion of weapons/firearms, explosives, controlled substances, or other regulated/dangerous goods.
- Gambling, raffles, sweepstakes, and giveaways that don't comply with applicable law.
- Privacy violations — sharing others' private or personal information without consent (doxxing).
- Intellectual-property infringement — content or listings that infringe copyright, trademark, or other rights (see Section 4).
- Impersonation and misrepresentation — pretending to be a person, brand, or organization you're not, or faking affiliation.
- Spam and platform manipulation — bulk/repetitive unsolicited content, fake engagement, or manipulation of rankings, reviews, or listings.
- Malware and security abuse — malicious code, or attempts to breach, overload, scrape, or interfere with the Services.
- Harmful misinformation — content that could cause real-world harm to health or safety, or that interferes with civic/legal processes.
- Fee circumvention and off-platform evasion — arranging paid transactions off-platform to avoid fees or these Guidelines.
- Reselling and unauthorized ticketing — unauthorized resale of tickets or listing events/classes you're not authorized to host.
- Deceptive money-making schemes — pyramid schemes, chain-referral or multi-level-marketing recruitment presented as an event or class, "get rich quick" offers, and similar schemes.
- Self-harm — content that promotes, encourages, or provides instructions for suicide or self-harm.
- Animal cruelty — content or events that promote the abuse, torture, illegal hunting, or trafficking of animals.
3. Reporting violations
Use the report/flag control on any content or listing, or contact [email protected]. We review reports and take action we deem appropriate. Reporting in bad faith is itself a violation.
4. Copyright and trademark (DMCA)
4.1 We remove infringing content under the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512) and terminate repeat infringers.
4.2 Send copyright notices to our Designated Copyright Agent: [email protected] (same agent as Terms of Service §11).
4.3 A valid notice must include the § 512(c)(3) elements. If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake, you may file a counter-notice under § 512(g).
4.4 Trademark complaints: [email protected].
5. How moderation works
5.1 We may review content proactively or after a report, and we may remove content, restrict features, hide or remove listings, cancel transactions, warn users, or suspend or terminate accounts. We consider severity, intent, history, and safety.
5.2 We aim to be fair but do not guarantee review of every item, and we are not liable for user content we did not create. We reserve editorial discretion consistent with Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, 47 U.S.C. § 230.
6. Changes
We may update these Guidelines; continued use after changes is acceptance.
